OST files store the offline work of MS Outlook. It basically allows you to work during server downtime or say during unavailability of internet (when Exchange Server is not connected to MS Outlook). However, vulnerability of OST files towards corruption is widely known. Exchange Server failure, errors on hard disk where OST files are stored, abrupt Outlook termination, synchronization issue between MS Outlook and Exchange Server, bad internet connectivity, virus attacks, sudden power failure or system shutdown etc. are some common reasons for OST file corruption. Second, check if MS Outlook is working fine. If it is, rename the corrupt OST file and try opening it again with MS Outlook. Third, check if the details of user profile provided in MS Outlook and Exchange Server are correct.

Check if there is any hardware or software related issue. Make sure that network cable, router and other hardware components are working fine. Also ensure that there is no software failure. Finally, remove the current Outlook profile and recreate it. Basically, you need to delete the current Outlook profile and replace it with the new one.
